I Had Lost My Will To Blog
Sorry about the absence. The "car" incidence took a while to get over. I had to give the car back to Steve. He never really intended it for me anyway so now he has a car that, on occasion, I drive. It is parked in the garage for the winter now.

Life's Let Downs
So, last week I was all excited about my new car (as evidence by the picture in my blog). Now, you get to hear ..."THE REST OF THE STORY!" (Paul Harvey, maybe you are all too young to remember). The dealership was prepping the car for my enjoyment when they discovered the trunk light wasn't working. On futher inspection, they found body paint dust in the trunk which lead to a call to the other dealership they had got the car from and found out that my car had previously been rear-ended! So my dealership sent it back. At least it's good to know that there are people out there who still demonstrate integrity. So, they madly found me another car. While this was going on, on the home front I was discovering that my wonderful husband's birthday plans were not so wonderful after all. He saw this as a way to get him a souped up car, too. ("Oh, I'll never really get to drive it! I will be driving my company truck."). So his name is on all the paper work! We are co-owners. He drove it home! I pulled it ahead about 15 feet to park the car into the garage. I drove it to work on Friday and home again(with minimal errands). He drove the missionaries home in it and showed it off to a few people on the way home. Then he announces he is going to take the car to fill it with gas (the only time he should be driving it as far as I'm concerned) and is gone until after I have fallen asleep at home. Right now I HATE THAT CAR! (I guess it is better to hate your car than your husband.) If you are given something for your birthday is it wrong to assume it is yours? Now, my birthday has been defiled. I am just really upset about the whole thing and what's worse is, my husband doesn't get it.

Super Saturday Craft in My Sister's Ward

I signed up to get a this kit from my sister's Super Saturday because I thought it was so cute. Debbie decided to paint it for me and gave it to me for my birthday.Pretty awesome, hey?!
Our Relief Societydecided not tohave a Super Saturday this year. What a shame! For some of us, this is the only time we take to craft. I can't wait to display this at our ward's Nativity Display the first part of December.
My Birthday

Well, look at me and my new birthday present. Who knew that my sweetie Steve would be able to pull it off. I was at work when Steve walked into one of my grade meetings and tossed me a key that said Happy Birthday, Mona on it. I got to drive the car on Saturday. I visited my fabulous friend Joanne and took her for a spin around the block. We both loved it. As I drove away from her house she had me exclaim,"It's me!... And I'm Fabulous!!!" as I peeled away from in front of her house. The sound this car makes as I shift her from gear to gear just makes me smile (a big cheshire cat grin smile). It is not about how I look to others it is truly the way I feel in the car. The car had to go back in the shop to get ready to come home - either Monday or Tuesday.
I made my birthday cake with the icing my mom used to always put on my birthday cakes when I was a kid. It was a first. I have never made it because I thought the recipe was too complicated but making it this year was very comforting. This is the time I miss my mom the most. The cake and icing was green (my favorite color) and I put little pig sprinkles on it. It was definitly made for me. Happy Birthday to me!
